Prof. Haihui Wang

1

Wang Haihui    Professor,Doctoral supervisor
Address: Tsinghua University Industrial Museum
Email: cehhwang@tsinghua.edu.cn

Professor Wang Haihui has conducted in-depth and systematic research on inorganic membrane separation, membrane catalytic reaction, and electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction to synthesize ammonia. He innovatively proposed the idea of reaction-reaction coupling and realized the coupling of water decomposition to hydrogen production, NOx decomposition and methane partial oxidation to synthesis gas in an oxygen permeable membrane reactor. In terms of two-dimensional membranes, two-dimensional membrane structure design strategies such as "self-supporting", "self-cross-linking" and "highly ordered" are proposed to solve the common fatal swelling problem of two-dimensional membranes and the difficulty of balancing permeability and selectivity. To solve the difficult problem, the pore structure of the two-dimensional membrane is precisely controlled at the nano/angstrom scale, so that it can show excellent performance in important separation processes such as gas separation, ion interception, and nanofiltration. In recent years, more than 240 academic papers have been published in mainstream international academic journals on chemistry and chemical engineering such as Nature Energy, Nature Sustainability, Science Advances, etc., 28 authorized Chinese invention patents have been obtained, and the papers have been cited more than 16,000 times. The first Sino-German joint laboratory of inorganic membranes for clean energy and clean environment in South China was established. He has received the German Humboldt Foundation (2003) and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2012), and was selected for the Special Government Allowance of the State Council (2018). In 2014, he won the first prize of Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Award (the first completer), in 2015 he won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award (the third completer), and in 2019 he won the first prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award (the first completer).
